Rules and Conditions

1. Parents/Guardians are topay the return airfare, medical, travel and personal liability insurance for their son/daughter and provide a reasonable amount of spending money for their son/daughter whilst on exchange.

2. A student participating in the programme may not break his/her stay with the host family to go away on a trip by him/herself.

3. Students are expected to participate in all activities for the duration of the programme.

4. Participating students are not permitted to smoke and may only consume alcohol in the presence of adultsof the host familyfor the duration of their stay as an exchange student.

5. In participating in this exchange the studentunderstandsthat he/she has an obligation to host a French student the following July/August.

6. The student must agree to abide by the decisions and accept the advice and supervision of the host parents in France.

7. Students are expected to show appropriate respect & politeness to organisers and supervisors of any Exchange Programme activities and to behave in accordance with the supervising adults’ instructions.

8. Attendance at school is compulsory and is an essential element of the exchange.

9. The exchange begins and ends in Sydney. Any requests forvariation to the programme shouldbe forwarded in writing before the commencement of the exchange to the incumbent Vice-President of the Committee.

10. The Hunters Hill –Le Vesinet Friendship Committee accepts no responsibility for participants who leave the programme without prior approval.

11. In case of illness, the host family is authorized to seek appropriate medical care for the student, including hospitalization of the student if this is necessary (in case of emergency).

12. In extreme circumstances, the French committee reserves the right to request repatriation of a student before the scheduled end of the exchange. This will be at the expense of the parent/guardian.

13. The committee recognises that students may wish to post on social media about their experiences. Any such post should be polite and respectful of the opinions of others at all times. We encourage the use of closed social media groups for the duration of the exchange. The committee reserves the right to request the immediate deletion of any social media posts regarding the exchange or experiences relating to the exchange which may be deemed to be offensive or disrespectful to any party.
